Mapinfo search directories, setting UNC paths

Morning all, 

I'm trying to set a UNC path as a "table search directory" in MapInfo, but the file chooser dialogue doesn't seem to allow me to do so - only to select local folders or mapped drives. 

Is there something I'm missing in the gui, or are these paths stored in plain text anywhere U can edit them?
