Dear All,
I'm currently writing a MapInfo to WKT conversion tool using MapBasic. In the tool I enable the user to split an object and write it to the SQL Server 2008 database. However, for a solid polygon and one with 1:n holes cut out I can use the POLYGON specification, if the object is two or more disparet polygons I need to use the MULTIPOLYGON specification. Typically, I use ObjectInfo to determine the number of polygons in an object but this doesn’t diferentiate between the two scenarios.
Apart from comparing co-ords is there any other way of identifiying this?

Adrian,
Have a read of this, it may help: http://groups.google.com/group/mapinfo-l/browse_thread/thread/8560ffcfd33d95ba
Regards,
Thanks for that Tom don't know why that didn't pop up in a search for me, was obviously looking for the wrong keywords.
Not a very tidy solution but it looks like a solution at least. It would be nice if MapInfo/MapBasic exposed the functions it uses.
