Hi people,

I am trying to connect to a PostGIS database however i am stuck at the
creation of the OBDC connection creation step. I scroll down the list
and i can't seem to find the PostgreSQL ANSI OBDC connector which i
think i need to install.

Would appreciate any help/tips in installing this OBDC driver for
thsoe that have done this before. Note i have already install Postgres
and PostGIS on my windows XP machine.

Thanks,

Nome

After you install postGres and posgis you need to install the driver
too. The ODBC driver for Postgres can be found here:
http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/odbc/versions/
where you can find source code ,installer and all. Find the installer
and install it and you are ready to go.

1. Install the OBDC http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/odbc/versions/msi/ Pick the one which corresponds to the Postgres version you have.

2. In the MapInfo User Guide. Search for PostGIS. There it will show you the instructions on how to set up the connection to your Postgres database.

Note though that you will not be able to open existing tables in postgis onto Mapinfo. You can only load table that you loaded from Mapifno into PostGIS. Load data from Mapinfo into PostGIS using Easyloader 10. I tried Easyloader 9.X and it dosent work.

Even then i still can't open my tables loaded through Easyloader dynamically(for editing). I am still stuck at this stage. However you can open tables as links which means you can't edit them.
