I have a problem with Map Info, I have trying to export to google earth but it appears a sign that says:
The file you're trying to open, ''file name'', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file.

How can I fix this problem?

You need to export to KML. Are you using GELink?

If you download Google Earth Pro (it is free), you can read in a tab file directly and let GEPro do the conversion.
I have used it for buildings and roads. Purely by chance I have found that if a column is named elev, this is interpreted as the object height and ID is carried through as the ID.

Do you have Google Earth installed on the PC you export it from?

MapInfo Pro (or GELink) asks Windows to open the exported KML file in the default application for KML files.

If you haven’t installed Google Earth, there might not be any default application for the KML file type.
