Hello everyone,
Does anyone know of a software or extension for checking and correcting topology problems from within MapInfo, or as a standalone for that matter, that could perform these tasks? I am referring to polyline objects not connecting or breaking at intersections, overshoots/dangles, etc. I remember a program called MapLogix by a company named Korem that was excellent for checking and fixing those issues, and it would also combine polylines based on or more attributes.
I’ve read that importing a map as a shapefile in QGIS and using the GRASS module v.clean.break is a working alternative, but that’s another ballgame, creating GRASS locations and mapsets. Hope there are some other alternatives.
Thanks and regards,
Miguel Iturralde

Thanks Juan Pablo and Richard for the suggestions –I’ll definitely take a look at the PostGIS blog entry…

Postgis has topology and is a supported MapInfo database. This might be worth reading:

Miguel,
I have not tried it yet, but Routfinder and Routware have those network checking features.
