If you are using MapInfo Pro v2023, the problem may be that your table is configured to support M/Z values.
If you hold your mouse on the disabled control, the tooltip normally will give you a hint to why the control is disabled.
As you can see below, I’m told that my table supports M and Z values.
If your table doesn’t hold M and Z values you can around this like this:
1. Save a copy of your table in the same folder as the original and just add “2” or “copy” to the name.
Make sure that you uncheck the “Support MZ” option as you can see below.
2. Open the newly saved copy, or simple use the Open new table using view option when you save a copy of the table.
3. Now you have two tables holding the same data. To overwrite the original table with the copy, use Rename Table and select to overwrite the original table with the new.
If you had a workspace with your table setup with specific styles, close all and reopen the workspace.
Now you can edit the spatial objects.
We prevent you from using some of the spatial tools on a table that support M and Z values because these spatial tools will not honour the M and Z values on the nodes.
Maybe we should let you enable the spatial tools for certain tables that support M and Z value but don’t contain any M and Z values. Would that be helpful?
Let me know how this works for you.
Peter
