Group,

I recently had to save some tabular data as an Access Database in
MapInfo v10, however the only option seems to be Microsoft Access 2007
and I need to save it to Microsoft Access 2003.

Anyone know of any workarounds that will allow me to save as 2003 in
version 10. It was standard in MI V9.5 and below.

It is possible to save data to an 'old' mdb style Access Database (as
opposed to the new accdb format) with MapInfo Professional v10.

Steps:
1. Go to File > Save Copy As...
2. Select Microsoft Access Database (*.tab) as type and Click Save
3. In the dialog box Save Access Table you can select your Access
version --> the default in v10 is Microsoft Access 2007 (i.e. accdb),
but the versions 2000 and even '95/'97 are still available there.

Thanks for reply.

I've worked out how to fix it

When the file you have is a MI version 10 tab file it only allows you
to save it as a Microsoft Access 2007 file.

However if you manually open the .Tab part of your tab file in Notepad
and change the version from 1000 to 300 it will let you save from
version 2000 and 95/97 as mentioned below.

A bit strange, you would think the options would also be there for tab
files that were created in MI v10 but there we go.

Cheers

I know exactly what your saying, but in my MI v10 there is no drop
down box for selecting past versions, it is hardcoded as Microsoft
Access 2007.
