Dear all,

I have a tab file as attached and I want to vlookup or select some particular value on column RNCIDCELLID. I've tried many method like export it to CSV/DBF/MIF, edit it using excel, then import it again into TAB file but the map color is gone and all value of the table gone also. Is there any way to do that without losing my map color and all value?

Hi Aldindha,

I have had a look at your mapinfo file, you just addin Rowid as a unique numbering as 1st step.

export the same to a csv or excel format, do all all the updates in a separate column over there.

Once you are done with addition/deletion/updation, make your updated csv/xls file as a MI lookup table.

Add another column in your MI file and update it, now you have your tables and its records intact with your color and new updates

also, hope that helps.

Use Query –> Select
and pick the table you want to use from the drop down menu, then type into the ‘that satisfy’ box
RNCID_CELLID="350_13322"

Note that RNCID_CELLID is of type character; use quotation marks round the value you want.

Set the store results in table to a sensible name ie cell_query.
Browse from cell_query
If you want to see which cells you have picked use Query –> Find selection.
