Hi,

You cannot convert a workspace to TAB. A workspace is simply a list of
MapBasic instructions to load/display data in the same way as when the
workspace was saved. A workspace will often be saved so that it opens a
number of TAB files, this does not mean that the workspace holds any
data, it simply 'tells' MapInfo to load the TAB files. It sounds like
you might want to append all of the layers in a workspace into one TAB?
This poses its own problems if all the tables are of a different
structure and hold different data... Why is it that you want to convert
a WOR to TAB? The answer to this might allow for a more informed
response.

Sohil,
You are confused. WOR files are workspaces files, they manage your work environtment in a sesion; Tab files are the objects you work with. Workspace is "HOW you work and WHAT are you doing", Tables is "WHICH things you are working with"

Thanks.....Actually I have added a table to a worlspace and in the end
i want to use Workspace packager tool which takes only one table as a
parameter so i asked on how to convert the whole workspace as a single
table so that it can be used with that tool...

I believe the workspace packager takes a workspace as a parameter, try
using the packager on your workspace.

You can convert workspace into tab. Open workspace in mapinfo, and go to "File--> Save copy as--> .tab"

Hello

Workspaces and tables are two quite different things, a workspace is a macro which opens a particular set of tables and then displays them in map windows/browsers/layouts etc as previously defined and saved by the user. You cannot convert a workspace into a table.

If you have objects saved in a workspace on the cosmetic layer of a mapper, you can save those as a map layer by using the “Save cosmetic objects” option in the Map menu. You need to be a bit wary here as the cosmetic layer may also contain other objects (such as points which have been placed there by the “Find” command). Also, of course, any objects saved from the cosmetic layer will not have any attribute data.

Kind Regards

Sue

You can also package the workspace  into one directory...  I don't understand why you would want to convert a workspace to a tab...  Unless you need to consolidate all tge tables but then this not the way to do..  All tab files I  work sparkle would need to be changed to same layout...  Maybe the question needs reframing

He said it was urgent. I guess he grew tired of waiting and re-posted it.
