I just spend some time with a partner on this yesterdays.
Apparently, Excel 2016 is just a bit slower in starting which prevent MapInfo2Excel to get a response in the short time after launching it.
I fixed this by adding a small wait time, currently set to half a second.
Let me get this fixed in the two versions of MapInfo2Excel and then put up a new version

It has been compiled with MapBasic 12.5
If it does, I’ll use this as the new version to upload.
Thanks
Maybe I need to incorporate the delay as a configurable value and not as a fixed value

Sorry, I got distracted by other things.
I have tried to modify MapInfo2Excel so that you can set you own Wait Time in the dialog just before sending the data to Excel.

This gives you the ability to try out some values to see if a higher value might fix the issue.
Please let me know how this works for you.
Unzip the attached file with the mbx and new language files into the folder where you already have MapInfo2Excel installed.
Once we have figured out that it can be fixed by setting the wait time, I’ll post the new version to the Community Download page.
Thanks for your patience

The idea is the leave the ”Wait Time” field in for other users to benefit from.
As it seems this solution will work, I’ll try to get it wrapped up and update the help file and post a new version.
Might however take a while as I’m out and about all next week.
Thanks for the feedback sofar
And finally, a new version of MapInfo2Excel has been uploaded to Community Download:
http://communitydownloads.pbinsight.com/code-exchange/download/mapinfo2excel
Notice that this is the 32 bit version.
Next step is to make the similar changes to the 64 bit version.
Thanks, Kalu, for providing me with the code to check for file extension and output folder.
This has also been incorporated into this version

Make sure that you are running v2.1: http://communitydownloads.pbinsight.com/code-exchange/download/mapinfo2excel-2.0-x64
It’s using a much faster and stable way to get the data from MapInfo Pro to Excel.
Let me know if this solves your problem

Can you give the new version, 2.2, that I just have published a go?
You can find it here:
http://communitydownloads.pbinsight.com/code-exchange/download/mapinfo2excel-2.0-x64
I have included the same fixes that I earlier build into the 32 bit version.

Subject: Re: [MI-L] MapInfo2Excel Quit Working
Yes that is the version I am using. I tried increasing the wait time however I don't think that's the problem. Maybe it's a permissions problem I am not sure. I will continue to work with it to see if I can solve the issue.
