Hi,

How do i do to convert the KML or KMZ file to TAB file with complete details on it.

For example:

i have a points with (name,coordinates, etc....)

If will open the kml file using UNIVERSAL DATA the points should have the details when i browse it, but it will just show blanks.

Can anyone help me with this matter

Thanks,

Glenn

first you spell your name in correct ;-)

if you don't have to do a lot of files the easiest way is excel

look for this line

  <wpt lat="Latitude " lon="longitude "

they will have real numbers where i have the names

if you need help post a couple of lines and i will show what the marco should  look like

Hi Glen,

I think i spelled my name correctly... :)

do you mean this line:

<br><br><br>

<table border="1" padding="0">

<tr><td>Volcano</td><td>Pinatubo</td></tr>

<tr><td>Longitude</td><td>120.35</td></tr>

<tr><td>Lattitude</td><td>15.13</td></tr>

<tr><td>Elevation</td><td>1,486 metres (4,875 ft)</td></tr>

<tr><td>Province_s</td><td>Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga</td></tr>

<tr><td>Historical_Eruptions</td><td>3</td></tr>

<tr><td>Eruption_Description_and_Curren</td><td>Reawakened in 1991 producing the 2nd largest eruption in the 20th century. Followed by milder eruptions in 1992 and 1993.</td></tr>

Cheers,

Glenn

hello, I've the same problem importing kml files with "universal data" command: geo infos are correct, but table is empty, no columns and no data; how could I solve it?

thanks a lot, Paolo

You could try my MapBasic program instead of the "universal data" command.  Note that my program will work on many KML files, but KML is so flexible that I cannot guarantee it will work on all files.
