Hello,
i have different Layers that show a city (streets and rivers), now I
would like to enter a file that i use with arcGIS. I have the
following files xxx.shx, xxx.shp and xxx.dbf! If I import the files,
they are not visible.
Is there a way to import those files into MapInfo?

Thanks for the help!

You need to know the coordinate system of the ESRI files.
If you do, you can open then thru Open.., select ESRI Shape file in the list of file types.
In the next dialog you'll have to select the coordinate system otherwise MapInfo will use your default coordinate system.

If you have an older version of MapInfo Pro, you can import the ESRI shape files thru Tools > Universal Translator
Again you'll have to pick the coordinate system to import them in tot he right place on earth.

Thanks for your prompt answer. I know it is WGS 84 UTM 32, but if I
insert the files, i can´t see them. Is it maybe because the prj file
is missing?

FloHPH,

What Peter said is absolutely correct..Coz i have experienced this years ago, when i tried to import a ESRI file into mapInfo. The reason i was not choosing any co-ordinates.
