Dear All,

Now is the time to dig out the best maps that you made in the last year!

The 2011 British Cartographic Society Awards entry date has been put back until 31st March as we now have a new Award Officer who is able to take delivery up until that date. There are awards for both paper and digital map products, including the Stanfords Award for printed maps, the Avenza Award for Digital / GIS maps, the John Bartholomew Award for small scale / thematic maps and the National Geographic Award. Entry is open to anyone in the World whether or not they are members of BCS (but membership is just £35 per annum!). If you win then you get a 2 Kg cut lead crystal engraved tablet to keep, plus the prestige and publicity in the BCS Magazine Maplines and the Journal of Cartography. The Awards will be made at the BCS Symposium Gala Dinner near Manchester in June 2011.

XYZ Win Awards - At the International Map Trade Show in Italy on Feb 18th, the National Geographic map of Scotland won the Silver Award for Best Flat Map (made by XYZ from People's Map data), and at the British Cartographic Society on June 10th 2010 our Postcode Sector Map - London won the Stanfords Award for Best Printed Map 2010.

Visit XYZ at British Cartographic Society 8/10th June 2011, and Frankfurt Book Fair October 2011.
