Hello All,

I'm trying to find a process where by I can split polylines (network)
into segments of equal length as defined by the user.

Any ideas?

Ed,

You can do this using the Routeware Toolbox tool (Split of (poly)lines at predefined distances, e.g. for every 100 meters), which you can download here - http://www.routeware.dk/toolbox.php

I have 2 apps for this on the website
http://www.wap3.com

1) Surline - does many "art work" functions in the Cosmetic Layer
2) FixLine - works with Street Files and performs readdress
calculations.

Both are free and have source code.

Thanks for this.

I've given it a try (Surline) and looks great, however for some reason
the polyline 'split by distance' results are not consistent. I.e. when
splitting a pline the distances vary somewhat and aren't maintained
throughout its length.

Additionally I'd like to conduct this across a network, however pline
split does not appear to work where nodes overlay.

Any thoughts?

Ed.
