[Need help about printing out the map in the A0 or A1 size]

hi,I am new with mapinfo. I made a map, and want to print it out.
I display the map in the map window. it includes 10 layers. I want to
print it out in the scale with 1:100,000, 1cm=1km, by use the Xerox
printer,which supports A0, A1, A2 size.
who can tell me about the detail process for printing? And before
printing, I also want to know about how many pages it will print out
for my map.
Thank you for your help.

When you want to print a map at a certain scale and/or to fit a
certain paper size, always print from a 'Layout Window'.
You draw rectangular 'frames' in this window. Then you double-click
them to add in a map window or browser for example.

Look at the inbuilt help as follows:

Under Help > MapInfo Professional Help.
Open Introducing MapInfo Professional
Open The Basics of MapInfo Professional
Open Reviewing the Windows in MapInfo Professional
Open Displaying Data in a Layout Window

You may, of course, print to scale of your choice directly from the map window.  Or could, before version 10.  You probably still can, although the instructions I offer may seem archaic.
To do it, set your System Preferences (OPTIONS--> Preferences--> System Settings) so that paper units are millimeters and distance units are kilometers, thus:

Then, when you arrive at the print command window, you can hit the options button and see what scale will be chosen to fit your paper:

This example?  The scale will be 1:78,940 unless I do something about it.

For 1:100,000 scale, 1 mm = 0.1 km.
For 1:24,000 scale, 1 mm = 0.024 km

Klugey?  You bet.  But it works.  If your map window requires a larger scale to capture it all on one sheet, then change the paper size and recheck the options for the new scale.  You can manually decrease the scale and get a map on the same size of paper.  If you increase the scale (increase the representative fraction), then you'll clip the window (if "centered on window") or you'll print onto several pages (if printing "same as window").

Thank you very much.

and two more questions,

1, When I print the map from the map windows directly, I select the
"option' in the print window, then enter the "map print options"
window, and I check the “custom" and "same as window" to set the
custom scale. but too much blank in the edge of the drawing. Is it
possible to reduce the blanks?

2, There are two attached pics in your reply. before I thought the
discussion group doesn't support attaching. could do you show me how
to paste up a picture in the post, just like you did? Thanks a lot.
