Hi All,

I need to register a .jpg in Mapinfo, using the info in its .jgw file, from Arcview.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

MapInfo Pro should pickup the information from the jpw file, when you open the jpg file thru File > Open. Only thing you need to do, is to specify the coordinate system.

Hello
Peter you are right...for MI >= 7.0 (and you will have to specify the
coordinate system one by one, for each raster)
Jim, if necessary, you can try http://georezo.net/forum/attachment.php?item=1978
(choice 1 of the tool)
It's in french but perhaps I 'll found time to translate (method MLC
INI of J. Paris...)

You might try Data Direction’s WorldReg 4 or 4 Plus if you can’t find other method.

Maurice, you have emphasised that you need to demand that every image.??w be
accompanied by an image.prj, so that the image can be registered and
displayed in the correct projection. This shows the advantage of the .tab
system.

Can MI use a .??w and the associated .prj to correctly register an image?

Good luck in the 6 nations...

Hello Tony
MI is unable to read the projection from the .prj file, if there is
one ...
I hope it wil be possible ...later !
Think 6 nations will not be a question of luck...and I'm not
confident !!
