MI 12.5.2 and MI 15.0.1 crashes when closing on WIN10 (v1607) >>RICHED20.dll <<

Dear list,

we have a problem using both left Mapinfo 32-bit programs (12.5.2 / 15.0.1) with WIN10 (v1607)

Both 32- bit Mapinfo programs are crashing when closing.

we get two error messages "Mapinfo funktioniert nicht mehr"


We renamed the raster handler (ecw.rhl) -  which did not work.
We set adminstration ricghts on Mapinfo Folder.   which did not work.


Appending the error message from Windows events:

I can see we have some similar issues recorded in our systems and also some workarounds which it looks like you have already tried out (renamed the ECW handlers and installing Windows hotfix).

 

Have you raised this issue with our support?

I'm having the same issue but haven't reported it yet as I assumed it was some issue with my Windows or Office install (using 64bit Office for some reason). What is the hotfix?

We plan on releasing a patch for MapInfo Pro 15.0 that will address this issue and some other issues.

 

It's planned for later in May, no fixed date yet

There is now a 15.0.2 patch available that has fixed this for me.

Here the patch hangs while installing and did not come to a succesful end.
