I’ve tried saving the .pdf file using the mapinfo .pdf driver, acrobat driver, and PDF creator. They all create a pdf file with tiled rasters, no text of objects that I can read into Illustrator and create drop shadows or gradational fills. I now understand why clients are complaining about the quality of the .pdf files when they import them into powerpoint.

I used to be able to do this, so I’m not sure what the current issue is, and was hoping someone would have a solution for me to try.

Best regards,

Barbara Carroll, CPG

Found it – it’s under the MapInfo PDF Printer driver – if you click the PDF button, you have the option to create a layered .pdf file, among other options.
