Hi Alex,

You might try updating or reinstalling Microsoft .NET Framework 4.

Hope this helps,

Subject: [MI-L] MapInfo Pro 11.5 Install Issues

Hi All

Having a few issues trying to install MapInfo Pro 11.5.

When i run through the installer it informs me that i need to install 2 Hotfixes, KB2484832 and KB2498911 :-

However when i try to install them i get an error "The installation of hotfix for Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile has failed. Setup will now exit" and the program does not install :-

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Download the .NET 4 installer directly, and run before installing
MapInfo:

Also, while you're at it, goto Start > Windows Update and check for
and install any updates.

I am told that this can happen if you have the recently released .NEt 4.5 installed and this will be remedied in the next patch (12.5.2). If you manually run the .msi file (double click usually runs) the installer will proceed without those hotfixes and that Tech Support will have to be contacted to get those hotfixes installed.

That's all I know so far.

Folks,

An alternative is to extract the MapInfo 11.5 installer (it's just a self-extracting ZIP archive) into its own folder.

Then double-click the "MapInfo Professional 11.5.msi" file in "Install\MI_PRO\DISK1" avoiding the "setup.exe".

It's setup.exe that checks the pre-requisites, and complains about the .Net framework version installed.

Regards,
Deryck
