Something like the 'Cut polygon tool' from ArcGIS?

Hello, i want to edit some polygons by drawing a polyline across them. The polgon then splits on two and I can delete a half.

 

There is an option to do this in ArcGIS called the 'Cut polygon tool'.

 

I've tried using the Split Region tool in MapCAD but the results are unsatisfactory.

 

The tool draws another region and thus results in splits to other polygons close by.

 

Does anyone know of any other way to do this?

Look for http://www.mapinfotools.com/  tool: subdivide regions. use a 2x1 or 1x2 mesh setting

Select polygon and set as target (ctrl+T)
Select polyline
Right-click menu choose Divide by polyline

Not 100% sure about the terms. I'm out of office and using a danish version...
But try it out
