How to recover file corrupted (contain DAT File,Mapinfo table,MapInfo Workspace)

hai there..

I use mapinfo 7.0..just now i move/drag folder from E: drive(contain DAT File,Mapinfo table,MapInfo Workspace) to other new folder also from E: drive ...The problem is..when i try to open file(contain DAT File,Mapinfo table,MapInfo Workspace) after i move/drag..the file cannot open and the pop up said the file is access denied

Izzit this folder corrupted? but when i view this folder using explorerXP..i can see all the file from this folder..but i cannt open,move,delete,or copy this folder..If corrupted..how to restore/recover this folder..

Help me pleaseeee..that a important files in this folder ='(

You say you have copied the .TAB and the .DAT files.

Have you also copied the .MAP and .ID files?

Otherwise, opening the table will not work.

Irrespective of you moving any files from any folders, unless all the files are in closed mode (Not opened).

Should be present in the same path with min 4 supporting files like .TAB, .DAT,.MAP and .ID files?

If any of this file misses the stored path, then they show as corrupted..

Hi,

Actually a TAB + DAT file can be opened very well. It will just show as a browser window without a map.

But a workspace using that TAB file may have problems, if it includes a mapper window.

"File access" errors is a whole different issue.

yup i copy all..but when i open the folder..it cannot open(Access denied)..

Hello,

Then it is only a matter of finding out, which application is preventing
access.

Use something like process explorer from Sysinternals, now to be found here:
