FME Quick Translator

Could anyone confirm if FME Quick Translate has a problem translating CAD files (DWG or DXF) to MapInfo TAB? It seems to have become an issue ever since MapInfo V11/12 adopted FME Quick Translate as the translator tool rather than the original MI Universal Translator. I don't recall it ever being a problem with earlier versions of MapInfo using the built in Universal Translator. Has anyone else experienced the same problem with FME Quick Translator Tool and CAD files. The Translation appears to go through but the files created are missing any geometry or features. Is it anything to do with FME Quick Tool not differentiating between versions of CAD eg versions 11,12,13,2004,2010 as the original tool used to do?
