Hello,

I have been searching the forum for how to go about adding a logo to a layout template.  The plan is to create some standard templates so when any GIS user in the organisation creates a map and wants to print it they use a standard template and all our maps are laid out nicely and they all look the same.

OK.  So far so good.  The trouble is the only methods I can find of adding an image to a layout in this forum don't look like they'll do what I want.  Surely it is a basic GIS task to have your logo in your layout template?  I hope this isn't one of the things MapInfo can't do.  Is there an easy way to just stick my image in?  Adding the image as a table won't work because wouldn't that require it to be added every time?

Add the logo image in a mapper frame and save the layout as a workspace. Make it read only so no one overwrites it.

There's instructions in this thread:

The other alternative, which is used here where I work, is to add the logo as a custom symbol, which means you just need to add a point object on your template and set this as the logo. The advantage is that you don't have to open additional tables, but the drawback is that everyone has to have access to the same custom symbols, but as we use the 'workgroups' option, this isn't a problem.  It's not the best way of doing it, but it was set-up before I joined the organisation!
