Hello everybody,

I'll try for first time to explain my issues in english, so I hope
that you can understand and help me.

I got to mapinfo tables in diferent projections, then when I tried to
put both together it doesn't woor very well. What i have to do to
convert the table data from the "Universal Transverse Mercator
(SAD69)" to a "Longitude / Latitude (SAD 69)?

Icthecat,

I did it using AutoCadMap. I guess mapinfo is not able to do it.

Easy as pie:

Save the table using File > Save Copy As... and change the projection
using the button in the bottom right corner of the save dialog.

Hi Icthecat

If you want to change the projection just on the fly you can change it from Map > Options and then click projection.

Or, you can save it permanently : File > save copy as …

Hmm... I think there is more to this than it seems.
Icthecat writes: then when I tried to put both together it doesn't work very well
Now, if the projection info is correct, and the projections are known to MapInfo, it should work int the sense that the two tables align when opened in a mapper.
If not, transformation will not help if the original data is flawed.
Can you be more specific? What did not work well?
Or have the instructions above to convert projection helped?

Regards, Mats.E

Well, I had already tried to change the projection from the tables and save it, but it didn't work. When I try to open the two tables together the maps doesn't stay at same location. I don't have the files right now but I can send it to the group - if it are permited - to  help you to understand the problem. I don't want that someone do the job for me, I just want a explanation about what i have to do.

Thank you all guys!

Regards

Hi,

I think you should try to export your table to MIF format and then have
a look if coordinates and coordinate clause actually match together.
Sometimes a table "thinks" it holds a different kind of coordinates than
it really does. Then you will see the typical mis-alignment of 2 tables
at the same time in a mapper.

There is the files that i have to work with. The "RMBH" file is the principal one, the "regional" is the problematic one...heheheheh
Just to remember, you guys don't need to do the job, just tell what i have to do.

Thank you again!

Icaro,

Me parece que o seu problema não é projeção. Os layers tem coordenadas bem distantes (7000 metros).
Erros de projeção costumam estar entre 10 e 100 metros. Não é o caso. Acho que vc deve procurar o arquivo original para resolver esse problema.

Icaro,

Sorry, but your problem seems not to be projection.Your layers have coordinates so far(about 7000 m).
I guess you have to find your original layer to solve this problem.

Try to open table RMBH and change coordinate system of the mapper to utm zone 32, sad69 (same as table "regional"). Now double-click on one of the regions and you will see coordinates such as 60,000 and 800,000.

Coordinates in your table regional seems to be swapped and the one with "60,000" are roughly speaking 600,000 in your current regions table, so you need to both swap and divide one of them by 10.

How to do that, I will leave as an exercise to you.

I need to tank you guys a lot, the Etore observation about the diference in coordinates between two files enabled me to solve the problem.

Regards from Brazil!
