Dear all,

At the start of this month I announced on the Tiled blog and on social
networks, that I am now asking for financial support from Tiled users
through Patreon. When many Tiled users would give a small amount of
money on a monthly basis, I can afford to work less at my current
full-time job and spend that time of Tiled instead.

I know that useful as Tiled is, it also has its shortcomings and
features to be desired. Given more time, I could tackle these issues at
a much greater speed. Even though I manage to make the occasional new
Tiled release, to me it currently feels like development is largely
stagnated and in addition I'm often the bottleneck when it comes to
reviewing and accepting contributed changes.

So, please consider supporting me on Patreon:

Those who's been around for a while may have noticed that I've tried
something similar two years ago already by more prominently asking for
donations and explaining why on the website, but it hasn't worked. I
think one of the reasons is the lack of transparency: nobody can see
that the average amount donated is a far stretch from being financially
supportive. Another reason is possibly that there is no direct reward
for donating. Patreon should help with these issues.

On Patreon I will write a short report each week to all supporters about
what has been keeping me busy. When my first goal is reached, this will
get more interesting since I would have one entire day to work on Tiled
each week. Other rewards for patrons include badges on the Tiled forum,
an official Tiled T-shirt, an advertisement banner or even telling me
what to work on. Suggestions for other rewards are welcome, too.

I'm looking forward to your support as well as any feedback!
