Hi everyone!

I'm one of the guys mapping Romania. I found a problem in Bucharest.
Every now and then the name of a road was changed with the name of
another road wich is a few kilometers to the north. First time I
thought it was bad data introduced by some users. But after more
research I found the problem. The segments of the road to the north
(Kiseleff Boulevard) are linked in the database with the segments of
this road (Gheorghe Magheru).

In the following link, please select Edit and Edit Entire road
section. Then zoom out. You will see a strange selection with other
roads in between the segments. For me the solution is simple. To
delete all the segments of Gheorghe Magheru Boulevard and redraw as a
new road. But I want some feedback and support from some more
experienced users/moderators. I have described the problem on romanian
forums but did not get any clear answers so I'm not sure I have full
support.

Thank you
Alex.

Hello Alex,

Such example tells the end result of a wrong extended road section.
You are absolutely right about the only solution which is to to delete
the smaller part and redraw. Let guys know in moderation sub-group if
you need help in moderating. Cheers

Hi,

In addition I would not blame the creator of the extension (even if wrong) since if GMM throws up a prompt as which of two or more (unnamed) roads to extend, there is no display of which unnamed road is which one on the visual front.

I found some strange happenings when I was trying to edit some badly extended roads. When you delete skewed segments, surprisingly any intersections do not automatically vanish; they need to be explicitly removed too.

Regards.
Prasanth

Thank you for your help!

I will delete the smallest part and redraw it as a new road.

Regards
Alex
