Uptown Mapping Party

I will be hosting a mapping party at the Walker Community Library in
the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis at 2pm on June 12th, 2010.

If you're interested, please reply to this post so I can gauge
interest in the event and maybe try to swing some free refreshments!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for joining the mailing list. If you didn't get a chance to see
this post before, look below for the details on when and where the
first mapping party will be held.

Also, it would be very helpful if you brought a laptop with you when
you came to the library. There should be wifi there and we can get
editing done faster when there are multiple machines.

It would be helpful to bring a laptop if you have one available: we'll
be using them to enter data into the map.

Also, if you have a handheld GPS unit you might want to bring it and
any computer connecting cables you have.

A couple reminders as the mapping party draws near:

- Parking at the library is fairly limited and is meter-based. I paid
$0.25/15 minutes in the lot. There is street parking but it is
difficult to get to. Also, there are tons of bus routes that converge
near there as well as bike paths galore. If you need help getting to
the library, please let me know!

- The mapping party is in the "meeting room" one flight of stairs down
from the entrance to the library. The door to the meeting room is
immediately to the right of the double doors that lead to the atrium.
Everything should be open and I'll try to get a sign up pointing the
way.

- The plan is to do most of our work outside. Since the weather looks
iffy, I do have some things we can do inside.

- Don't forget a laptop if you have one!

I wanted to make sure and thank everyone that came this past Saturday. It was a blast!
