Hi everyone! Long time no message. Hope your Summer went well.

I recently went to the State of the Map conference in Denver and convinced Harry Wood (one of the prolific mappers in the UK) to start a baseball field mapping project:

Basically, the idea is to map as many baseball diamonds as you can. I spent a few hours looking around the suburbs of the Twin Cities and found the majority of my 200-odd edits. Can you guys join me in trying to find all the baseball diamonds in the Twin Cities?

Also, I noticed there are roughly 25 people on this mailing list now. We should definitely get together some time. Would anyone be interested in a "mappy hour" event (drinks + mapping + talking at or near a bar) some time in November?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Ian

Baseball diamonds - great idea. That's just the kind of random motivation that helps me contribute to OSM. I just did a few in Shoreview and I'll keep my eye out for more.

Unfo, little kids at home keep my availability for "mappy hour" pretty low. But maybe someday. I hear Amsterdam in downtown St. Paul is a cool new place.
