My situation is a bit different in Nassau, Bahamas. The buses are
privately owned jitneys that follow routes laid out by the government.
I would like to place the routes on Google Maps, however there are
some differences from public transit:
1) Bus stops are irrelevant in all areas except the downtown area.
Buses can be flagged down anywhere on the route.
2) There are no scheduled stops.
3) The amount of buses available per route (and therefore frequency)
may not be available. I am looking for a solution for that.
4) Some of the routes are extremely tortuous and use minor roads.
With these differences, I am not too sure if we are eligible for the
Google Transit Partner Program. Some of the roads are not named as
yet, so it may be faster to simply create segments specifically for
each bus route. Is there a feature available so that I can add a line
segment specifically for these bus routes along side of the road? Do I
have to substitute a segment e.g. use a bicycle path?
Thank you very much.
