The new biking feature is amazing, but I'm constantly running into situations where bike paths that I know well are clearly obvious on the map but don't show up as paths on the biking overlay.  Also, since the biking overlay is my primary source for finding new bike paths, I would love to be able to tap into the knowledge of the community about where these trails are.

So please, can we open up the USA for bike path editing?  I would love to take the time to share my knowledge.

Hi Alex,
While Map Maker is not yet open for editing, you can report this as an maps issue on Google Maps. In Google Maps, zoom in to the location where bike paths that you know well are obvious on the map but don't show up.
1. Right-click and select "Report a Problem".
2. From the "Which element is wrong" drop down list select "street".
3. Describe the Issue.
4. You can check the "Email me when the problem is resolved" check-box to be notified about updates on the issue.
5. Click the "Report a Problem" button to submit.

Thanks for the instructions on how to report this as a Google maps
issue.

However, I'm most interested in getting more information on when Map
Maker will be open for the US. Will it ever be open?

Thanks,

Hi Alex,
Thank you for your interest in mapping the United States. While the US is
not yet open for editing in Map Maker, please be assured that we are
working on opening up Map Maker for all of the world. Please see the
list of countries currently open for editing:
http://maps.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=155415
We will update this forum when new countries are open for editing.

Regards,
Rohit
