Kia Ora Koutou,

On behalf of Te Kahui Manu Hokai, I am pleased to announce two Project Management workshops in Rotorua, and Whangarei which are now open for registration.
  • These are two day workshops, 9am to 4.30. All printed materials will be provided. There are no fees to attend these workshops, but you must come if you register.
  • The Department of Conservation is sponsoring the Facilitator and facilities.
  • There are opportunities for lunch sponsorship, and hosting of the event if you have a large suitable room.
  • Please help us by distributing this email to your networks - Especially to your young people.
The workshop will cover:
  • What is Project Management?
  • What is unique about projects in the Maori Environment?
  • What is unique about GIS projects
  • How to Manage a Project of any kind
  • The Project Phases
  • The Principles an concepts of managing projects
  • Group based exercises and participatory learning, minimal lectures.
  • A scenario will be used that best meets the need of the group, involving GIS concepts.
The workshop will use the PMD Pro Guide - a Project Management framework developed for NGO's and fits well with Maori Organisations and structures. There are opportunities to become a certified project manager.

To avoid disadvantaging other potential attendees, we ask that you commit with the absolute intention of attending. These workshops cost a lot to setup, prepare for and provide, so we need to ensure that the venue is 100% full. The opportunities for us provide this at no fee and in these locations is very rare.

You can register for the Rotorua Event here: http://pm4gis_rotorua.eventbrite.co.nz/

You can register for the Whangarei Event here: http://pm4gis_whangarei.eventbrite.co.nz/

Kind regards
Duane
