[Maori-GIS] Maori GIS Conference

Kia ora,

I know it isn't normal to discuss organising committee stuff to the
wider committee, but this might help generate some discussion anyway.

I was tasked with contacting some of the private sector organisations
who might be interested in supporting this years event (time TBC).

So far, I have contacted Eagle, Boffa Miskell, Integraph, Beca's, TIL
and my offsider through his membership on the SIBA committee, is
contacting them directly as well.

This group has been quite for a long time and now it is time to start
thinking about this year's event. Hope I haven't overstepped the mark
here Roland.

No Tony you didnt overstep the mark, just highlighted how remiss I've been.
As outlined at last years conference a few members were charged with moving the kaupapa forward.
This group had a brief phone conference recently and have now appointed a steering committee for this years conference.
A date and venue have not been confirmed yet but WATCH THIS SPACE FOR UPDATES.
