Special Announcements:

PROPOSED Teacher Advising Plan - The Manual SBDM council is studying the possibility of creating a teacher advising program at Manual to ensure that students receive ongoing and focused guidance about how to prepare for post-secondary education.  A preliminary, draft proposal was shared at the May 2012 SBDM council meeting. This proposal is now posted to the SBDM page of the PTSA website for viewing by parents http://www.dupontmanual.com/ptsa/SBDM.php.   Accompanying the proposal is a guide from the National Association for College Admission Counseling, which was a source document for the draft proposal. Parents who wish to give feedback on the proposal draft should send their comments to parent council members Tim DeLong (TIM_D...@B-F.COM), Margaret D'Silva (dsil...@gmail.com), or Patty Kannapel (pkan...@bellsouth.net).
 
 
YPAS Senior Night (May 23rd in the Main Stage Auditorium at YPAS) - On this night we will recognize the collective accomplishments of the YPAS Senior Class of 2012. The program begins at 6:30 PM and will be very different from the Manual Senior Awards Night.  You will receive your YPAS Diplomas, a copy of the YPAS Class of 2012 Group Photo, along with other YPAS departmental awards.  There will be refreshments provided by the Producers and you will see a DVD Presentation entitled, "Remembering the Class of 2012." 
 
 

Manual Volleyball Team Fundraiser - Eat at Mark's Feed Store at 1514 Bardstown Road on Wednesday, July 25 and help the Manual Volleyball team raise money!  Just take in a voucher saying you're supporting Manual Volleyball and Mark's will donate 15% of your bill to our team!  If you would like a voucher, please email Pam Fasteen at pamfa...@bellsouth.net   Thank you!

 
 
Looking for AP Study Guides - Now that AP testing is complete, are you looking for a place to store those used 2012 AP study guides?  Please consider donating your used 2012 AP study guides to the Manual guidance office; all subjects accepted. These will be stored in the reference section of Manual's  College and Career Center and available for all students to use during the school day to study for both classroom tests and AP testing next May.  Just have your student bring them in and drop them off in the guidance office. Thank you!
 
ATTENTION SENIORS!! -  Graduation is right around the corner and that means it’s time to sign up for Project Graduation! You should be receiving your registration form in the mail any day now, or you can access one from the following link, http://www.dupontmanual.com/ptsa/Misc%20files/Project_Graduation_2012_Reg.pdf, or you can pick up a registration form in the office. Return your form ASAP to the Project Graduation box located in the office and you will be entered in our Thursday drawing for a free gift card. Don’t forget that Project Graduation is May 31st, from Midnight until 5:00 am. (Sign-in begins at 10:30 pm until Midnight). This a free event for all seniors! Prizes, food, DJ, games, inflatables, you name, we have it!  Come celebrate a final farewell!!

community wants to provide "The Place To Go" where a good time can be had by all, but we need your help to make it happen! We need your generous donations and your time. New ACT Test Summer Intensive Prep - Visit http://www.theactbootcamp.com/ to participate in the local ACT prep.   From state standards to college admissions and scholarship money, the ACT is becoming the most important standardized test.  To stay up with the ACT's ever-growing importance, Torch Prep  will be offering a DISCOUNT for the Summer Intensive Boot Camp June 4-8.  The course is 32 hours over five days.

Fund Your Seat Campaign - The Producers, the parent organization of YPAS, are conducting a fundraiser titled, “Fund Your Seat.”  This fundraiser is designed to raise enough money to replace all of the audience seats (dated late 70’s) in the Main Stage Theatre. “Fund Your Seat” provides you the ability to sponsor a seat in the Main Stage Theatre.  In doing so, you will get an engraved nameplate attached to the seat you sponsor with your name or a brief tribute.  There are two different prices for the seats depending on the seat you choose ($175 and $225).  For an order form please visit www.ypas.producers.org.  Please take time to visit the PHOTO SESSION on the Website to see creative pictures of faculty, staff, and students promoting the “Fund Your Seat” fundraiser.
