I'm recording audio to go along with my PPT, and on a few slides I have two different audio files that I'd like to have automatically play one after the other in presentation mode. Every single thing I've googled demonstrates how to play multiple audio files simultaneously on one slide, or shows how to play one audio clip across multiple slides, but I can't seem to find anything about playing one audio clip, and then another audio clip right afterwards all on a single slide only.
We're using a Mac computer with MC 5.5.2 on two computers. When we launch the project on one computer, a series of clips plays fine. But when we launch the same project on the other computer, there is no audio. All other clips play fine in the project.
We have checked the project and clip settings and there is nothing different about these series of clips or the way the MC5 is set up. We've gone into audio settings, audio project, and checked the sample and bit rates. We're moved the clips to a different drive to see if that would help-- nothing has helped.
In the upper left hand corner of the timeline window, there is a timecode display. Next to the timecode display there is a triangle. Click it to reveal the enhanced audio track controls and look for the track power button (circle with a vertical line) - make sure it is active.
Are you working in a shared server environment, like Unity? If not, on the computers where the audio seems to be missing, do you see audio in the audio tool meters? Have you set your timeline track color display to include "offline" so that offline clips will show in bright red?
There's no waveforms. But the weird thing is when we open up the project on the other system we have audio on the clips. So it's some weird anomaly we've been unable to solve. Our work around was to export just the audio files from the other AVID and sync them in the system that's unable to play them. Still not sure what the problem was, but at least we were able to save the edit day.
What would be really strange and highly unusual would be for you to confirm that audio waveforms are not present in the timeline, yet with "offline" active in the timeline clip color display it indicates the clips are online (not showing as bright red). If there are no waveforms, the associated media is almost always offline. And you say that you confirmed the clip sample rates match the project sample rate, and that "always" is selected for "convert sample rates when playing"?
I had issues yesterday with this and I took the OMF in my project folder, deleted it and then copied it over again from my dropbox. The audio now plays again. I have done this on 2 separate sessions and the problem has been solved.
When working on a video where I'm given multiple channels of audio (in this case, 7 separate files for each take), it's incredibly time consuming to drag the clips in one at a time. Is there a way I can select all seven files and drag them into the timeline so that they stack vertically along seven audio tracks?
Yes. Oddly, merge did the job for me.. contrary to what the term might indicate. I merged about 14 audio clips then dragged the merge sequence into the timeline and was able to sync them to a master audio track. They look like typical audio tracks. If "merge" means something besides "make this super easy for me to stack these".. something that might upset any normal production processes, I don't see it. Thanks.

I restarted everything with the same result. Here is another screen shot. As stated before, I can hear video clips just fine. I am only having trouble with audio clips I have uploaded from my iphone that I can tell. I have uploaded other audio clips that seem to work. I have used uploaded iphone audio clips in the past without issue
If you would like to split an audio file at the same time as a video, hold down the shift key on your keyboard, and select both of your media files on the timeline. You can also drag your mouse across both assets, which will select both of them. Next, select the Split button.
To split multiple clips at once, highlight all of the clips on the timeline that you want to split. To do this, drag your cursor over all of the clips or hold down the shift button on your keyboard and click each clip. You can also select Command-A or Control-A on your keyboard.
Trimming allows you to drag the sides of a clip inwards to shorten it or outwards to lengthen it. However, you can also 'trim' a clip by splitting it and then deleting the remaining part as shown above. To learn how to trim a clip, see How to trim a video, audio, or image clip.
I am trying to do a simple overdub on a WAV file (beat) from a computer in arranger view. When I insert the audio clip into the arranger view, it tries to timestretch it. I dont want that. Also, I know about the kit-clip-method, but I need to skip ahead further down the WAV file to record my overdubs onto so I cant use the kit-clip-method as I would need to start the kit playback always from the very beginning.
Also this might be related: when recording the output of the deluge into a new audio-clip track in arranger view, the resulting recording plays fine on the deluge. But when I resample (start the resampling in the arranger view with play + record to have it sync) and then bring the resample-file back into the arranger, it will timestretch again (very weirdly) and not play fine.
Warping is always applied to audio clips. The warping will not affect the audio if the clip length is correct and tempo is set to that of the original (tempo matching can be done by holding the tempo knob and pressing the audio clip).
Not impossible. I would load the sample into a kit. Adjust the clip length then resample with rec + play as described above. Then you should be able to load that into an audio clip of the same length without warping.

but what about resampling an arranger view song (with not a perfect ending) and re-importing it as an audio clip? I just tried it and its off too, because its not a perfect loop (as sometimes tails are there at the end. I cannot resample to a perfect ending in arranger, even when pressing "rec + play" in arranger view.

All warped clips in the Arrangement View have one further option: They can be defined as tempo leaders by toggling their Leader/Follower switches. Any number of clips can be set as tempo leaders, but only one clip at a time can actually be the tempo leader. This distinction is always granted to the bottom-most, currently playing clip in the Arrangement View.
When you first load a sample into Live, Live automatically analyzes the audio and finds its transients. These are the points in the audio where notes or events begin, and are usually good places to put Warp Markers. Transients appear as small markers at the top of the Sample Editor after zooming in.
If a single event in a percussive audio loop comes late, just pin a Warp Marker to it and drag the marker to the correct beat position. You may want to pin the adjacent events as well, to avoid affecting neighboring regions in the sample.
When you drag an audio file into Live that is too long to justify the assumption that it is a loop or a one-shot, Live will auto-warp the clip by default (though this can be changed in the Record/Warp/Launch Preferences).
In the previous section, you learned how to adjust the timing of events in audio files by manually dragging Warp Markers along the timeline. But it is also possible to automatically snap the entire sample to the grid at once by using the Quantize command. To do this, click in the background of the sample editor and choose the Quantize command from the Edit menu, or use the CTRL(Win) / CMD(Mac) hotkey. This will quantize using default settings, or the settings that you previously applied.
Beats Mode works best for material where rhythm is dominant (e.g., drum loops as well as most pieces of electronic dance music). The granulation process is optimized to preserve transients in the audio material.
The Transient Envelope slider applies a volume fade to each segment of audio. At 100, there is no fade. At 0, each segment decays very quickly. Long envelope times can help to smooth clicks at the end of segments, while short times can be used to apply rhythmic gating effects.
The Envelope slider also influences the spectral characteristics of the material. The default setting of 128 should work well for most audio. For very high-pitched samples, you may have better results with lower Envelope values. Likewise, low-pitched material may sound better with higher values.
University of Washington researchers have developed new algorithms that solve a thorny challenge in the field of computer vision: turning audio clips into a realistic, lip-synced video of the person speaking those words.
As detailed in a paper to be presented Aug. 2 at SIGGRAPH 2017, the team successfully generated highly-realistic video of former president Barack Obama talking about terrorism, fatherhood, job creation and other topics using audio clips of those speeches and existing weekly video addresses that were originally on a different topic.
Rather than synthesizing the final video directly from audio, the team tackled the problem in two steps. The first involved training a neural network to watch videos of an individual and translate different audio sounds into basic mouth shapes.
