Surface wave turbulence

Hi again,

Another question... I've seen the example file about surface wave turbulence "surfaceTurbulence.py".

This effect is exactly what I'd like to get on my Blender simulation, but it seems that this module isn't embedded in Blender isn't it ?

I don't know how familiar you are with the use of Blender for rendering but here is my question : how can I render results on Blender, if I run the simulation out of it.

My idea was to bake particles (and mesh?) through Blender, add lines to generate surface wave turbulence to the mesh and then plug that back into Blender. But not sure if possible...

Hello Guillaume,

good to hear you find mantaflow useful! And yes, the surface turbulence scene should be a good start for what you're looking for. Right now that is not exposed or exported to blender, and you probably already saw the "surfacePointsDisplaced.save()" call in the example scene. The surfacePointsDisplaced are a "regular" mantaflow particle system that contains the surface particles offset by the waves. You could visualize those directly, or e.g. create a triangle mesh for them similar to a regular FLIP simulation.
