Ans: If you want to find apk files on your android phone, you can find apk in the/data/application/directory under user-installed application, whereas pre-installed files are in the system/application folder using eS. File manager to access it.
bubbaganoosh i have the 2018 tcl andorid tv and i also have that netflix issue where there is no video. i think it is related to the fast boot. Anyways if you want that issue solved i would suggest downgrading to android 7, which in my experience is much better and stable and also fixes that netflix issue. Fast boot works 8 out of 10 times for me and i am quite happy with it.
just a heads up, if you do downgrade, you MUST downgrade to V369 first and then you can upgrade to latest android 7 build V379. if you downgrade from oreo to directly V379 your TV won`t boot. Hope it helps.
PS: I emailed TCL regarding the netflix issue, they say that there engineers are working on a patch for oreo but there is no eta.

Mum got a TCL 50P8M 50" in Oct,came back from Christmas lunch and found the screen showing the android recovery screen.It was complaining about a corrupt firmware and to to reset
using the power key and the volume down key.Problem is the remotes don't work and there are no buttons to push on the TV.Had to happen right on Christmas.Hope the after sales support is not a pain.
Being techy, i have tried to do factory reset using online tips but to no avail. I have switched off for 60 seconds unplugged from the wall, I have tried holding volume down and power button on TV then switching power on from wall switch to do a hard reset but none of these work. I have tried multiple different versions of these including using the arrows instead of volume and other methods mentioned for android TVs online. There are no other physical buttons on the TV other than Power button. I have checked connection console for reset swtich but nothing. There doesnt seem to be any other way to hard reset.
fastboot only seems to work when you turn it on again within ten minutes, after that it colds starts. I was too quick off the mark. Seems to be an issue with the android OS rather then tcl. Some guy on xda managed to get it to work, there is a messy fix there but im not keen to try it out.
