Business is picking up all round us and so is the Farmers Market. Farmer Gordon is happy to see the local community supporting the local vendors at the Market and has mentioned that he has sold out jams and preserves the last couple of weeks and has enjoyed heavy demand for his Apple Butter.
Some Farmers Market vendors like Gordon have full time day jobs, yet are dedicated enough to find the time to grow vegetables and can preserves just for the Market. When asked how he does it Gordon said, “Sometimes I get home and all I want to do is sit down and I have vegetables to cut and a night of preparing preserves, you just have to do it.”
Gordon is proud of the vegetables he produces and is really excited about the squash, elephant garlic and cantaloupes he has growing now. If you haven’t tried his preserves than you don’t know what you’ve been missing. Expect to see plum jam, blackberry jam, jalapeno jelly, peach preserves, strawberry preserves, pickle beats, fig preserves, and Gordon’s famous apple butter, yum; you can stand a fork in it. so rich.
But don’t miss out on the other fine local fresh food including:
Gordon’s Vegetables: Swiss chard, collards, carrots, broccoli as well as delicious homemade jellies & pickled beets.
Laverne’s Vegetables Patch says:
