Hello Darren,
I hope you are doing well!
I was wondering if you could send out some information to your Safe Street group leaders so they can in turn relay it to their groups:
When citizens wish to report a noise complaint that is occurring in real time, they need to call 911 (or non-emergency) so it can be placed in the dispatch que and triaged by SS911/patrol in accordance with their dispatch policies.
When they are reported through 311 or other means (email etc.) or directly to CLOs or other city staff, officers are not likely to make it to the location in time to witness it in their presence which legally needs to occur.
Also, when they call to report the noise complaints, they can request from SS911 that officers contact them after they investigate it. They need to ask for that follow-up contact when speaking with the call-taker.
Hopefully this helps alleviate any confusion regarding reporting these concerns.
