Hi All, I got a call from the Mosman Daily asking for comments on the new Mosman cycleway which runs on the west side of Spit Rd. from the Spit Bridge around the water's edge then up a very steep section to Bay St. On a previous attempt to ride the route I was unable to stay on my bike on the steepest part and expressed the opinion that cyclists would continue to ride up Parriwi Rd rather than use the new route. However I suggested they should send someone down to the point where the 2 routes diverge and see how many morning riders choose the new route and how many continue to use Parriwi. I would be interested to hear opinions from anyone who has tried the new route.

John

I have now ridden this route twice (on the way to work) and have christened it the Goldilocks route. The first section from the Spit Bridge is beautiful, alongside the water and the rowers and the   house boats at Beauty Point. But then you have 3 hills to get out; the first two are manageable but the 3rd going up Glen St is the big daddy bear; I am ashamed to admit but I have to walk the bike. Stick with Parrawi.

Love to make the Christmas ride on Thursday but the demands of government knows no end particularly in “Hopenhagen” week.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
