Suggest meet at Seaforth Oval at 9.30am. Ride to be as per 2 weeks ago via South Creek Road and around Narrabeen Lagoon for lunch booked for 12.30pm at the same restaurant we ate at last year. I will ride from home at Church Point up the Wakehurst Parkway and meet up with you at the corner of Wakehurst Parkway and Frenchs Forest Rd at about 10am. Because we couldn't get an earlier lunch booking I suggest we stop for coffee somewhere such as Collaroy. Anyone know a good place?
Lunch is on regardless of the weather so if it is pouring down I will go by car to the restaurant and hope others can get there in the same way. I think we booked for 12 people so please advise earliest if you are coming in case I need to call the restaurant and amend.

Hi John, yes I would love to join you.    Am a little confused re the route from Seaforth Oval though.  Thought the ride a couple of weeks ago went through the bush to where it exited at Narrabeen Lake at Nokia Road (bottom of War Vets) / end of Mactier St.  Not down the Wakehurst Parkway.  Could someone please clarify ?   Then I will be able to confirm where I meet up with you.   Re Cafe's at Collaroy - there are two which would be OK.  One is actually on the beach called The Deck, the other is just a little way along the other side of the surfclub, not sure of name, but may be White Rock.   They have the better coffee out of the two, but the one on the beach is a nicer location.  Both will be fine with bikes.  Weather should be good for Thurs. a dry day and temps 21-30 deg.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone.
Sonia

I'll definitely be there for lunch, John - thank you for organising!
Will probably ride from Neutral Bay - depending on the weather.

Looking forward to it!

I will be there and will start from Seaforth Oval.  Thanks for arranging the lunch.  Last year's was very successful and this year's will no doubt be even bigger and better.

Sonia, Maybe meet me in Narrabeen at the start of Wakehurst Parkway - junction with Pittwater Rd- for the ride up to Frenches Forest Rd at say 8.30am. I wasn't proposing to ride back down the Wakehurst Parkway though. Anyway we will no doubt find a suitable route via South Creek Rd.

Hi Folks,
Yes, my plan is to join you and meet riders at Warringah Road
(9:50ish). Another alternative for coffee is the War Vets newly
opened coffee shop on the Narrabeen lake track – opens 10:00. Haven’t
used it as yet however someone in the group said it was ok. (cant
recall who?)

I'd like to join you this week. Will meet group at Seaforth Oval at
9:30.
What is the restaurant for the lunch (just in case the weather turns
and we need to get there separately)?

Hello John,

I would be a starter for this ride and lunch. Yaffa can't make it as
she has some volunteer Christmas present wrapping in Chatswood at
2.00pm.

Hi Louisa,
Hadn't given it much thought - think the $24 lunch sounds fine. Probably best to get a couple of bottles of wine there - bringing ones own would probably work out more expensive at$4 per head. See you in the morning (assuming I make it up the Wakehurst Parkway!). I will put this on the website for everyones info

To: jthi...@hotmail.com

Hello John  -   I don't want to interfere with tomorrow's arrangements, but are we having a "set menu"  ?    I just spoke to the woman,  Chris,  at  H20 cafe (ph   9913 1360  )  and she mentioned a   $24 lunch  (garlic bread,  main course  and  then coffee/tea afterwards).    Corkage is  $4/per head.    The cafe would give us  one  giant bill   (i.e. not tolerate  individual payment ).    I am  a fan of the "SET MENU"  myself  (to save stress of weighing & measuring what each person has to pay).      Thanks, -  interested in your comment.     Louisa   p.s..  having a DESSERT as part of the "set menu"  would be a few dollars more.

Hi, All 14 who attended yesterday's lunch (& others who couldn't make it due to other commitments). What a great day - cycling up Wakehurst with Sylvia was a bit arduous especially having to walk the last bit after my blow-out. Glad I did it though because it gave the opportunity to see what a hazardous route this is especially with heavy morning traffic. Wouldn't do it again in the early morning.
However the lunch was just great, thanks Vicky for providing the crackers - the goodies in them were delicious. We should have more social events like this. I've put up a picture but I note it's almost identical with Tony's! A Happy Christmas to all and a cycling friendly New Year. Good to hear GeoffE wont be leaving us after all.

Thank you John, for organising a good day yesterday including the great lunch get-together.
Was very enjoyable and fun.   Lucky it wasn't today with all the rain.

Hope you got back to Scotland Island OK after lunch and that the traffic was not too bad.
(I too, saw your article in the Manly Daily this morning)  - well done.

Thanks again John.
Wishing everyone a great Xmas and a healthy, happy NY.
Sonia
