Vale Bob Chambers.
I was only these past days reminded about Bob's good tips for bike upkeep. For example he said  after every ride check tyres for glass as no matter how small, in time a slither works it's way in and punctures the inner tube, and that is what happened to me last Sunday at the Hawkesbury.

Fully concur Wendy. He once told me that you’ll get more punctures on wet days as the small wire pieces from car radial tyres that’s on the road gets some lube from the water and more easily penetrates bike tyres. He was a very fine cyclist in his day and a good companion on the road.

RIP Bob

An extremely sad loss. Bob and I used to enjoy cycling together in
the early days of our group -- we were on the same wavelength, A
practical person as am I. A kindred spirit and easy to get along with.
I missed when he left this group and I used to wonder how he was
faring. So sad.

Frank, please pass on our condolences to Bob’s family as are unable to attend the funeral.  He has unselfishly given many of us cycling “hacks” that will continue to keep his memory alive.

Thanks Frank for letting us know. We will sadly miss Bob, and have fond memories of the days spent riding together, especially on the Big Rides in the NSW countryside. Please also pass our kind thoughts to Bob's family, as regretfully, we are unable to make it to the funeral next Wednesday.  Geoff and Yaffa.
