Alberta's tar sands: Finally we've discovered how to turn gold into lead.
Duane Elgin is a noted author and speaker about simple living as well as cultural transformation. His work blends systems thinking, cybernetics, social trend analysis and a fine spiritual sensibility grounded in his own meditation practice. The notice below refers to a new initiative he is launching in a couple of days that I thought might interest you. We have referred obliquely in some of our meetings to the "heart and soul" dimension of transition and this video stream will probably present one take on that. I'm neither endorsing nor promoting Elgin's particular perspective on these questions, which tends to be pretty syncretistic and "California New Age", but I'll leave it to you to separate the wheat from the chaff. Knowing Duane, there will certainly be a lot of wheat.

I hope you will review the blog and join the dialogue about new narratives for a promising future!In a related development, I will present about this work on Saturday, February 4th and you can receive free, streaming video access to an important conference featuring stories of a positive future, which will take place at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. The "Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment" will include: Eckhart Tolle, Jim Carrey, Marianne Williamson, Jean Houston, Louie Anderson, Edward James Olmos, and many more transformational luminaries who support transformational entertainment and media.
The live events begin at 9:00 AM, Saturday, February 4th and continue into the evening. Although I will give a talk in the morning and another in the evening, my primary presentation is tentatively scheduled for 10:30 AM.
