Southeast Transition Initiative events coming up:

"Solar in the Southeast"
Thursday, February 23 - 7:00PM at The Eastman Education Centre, Loewen
Blvd. Steinbach

There will be a panel of people who are living with solar in their
homes.
•Kyle Friesen lives at Mitchel with his family. He has installed a
bank of photovoltaic cells on his roof.
•Herman Unrau lives at St. Malo with his wife. He has installed a bank
of vacuum evacuated tubes on his roof.
•Randy Proven, with his son Evan and nephew Donald have built several
energy efficient homes in Winnipeg. They have combined super
insulation and solar thermal.
•Evolve Green, the local alternative energy company will have a trade
display in the foyer.

Also:
Saturday, March 10 A field visit to Tim and Janet Kroeker at Roseau
River.

•Their house is uniquely built, with tamped straw/clay.
•The floors in their house are of earthen clay.
•They are in the process of building a masonry wood stove.

We have arranged with Tim and Janet that we will be there at 1:30, but
most of you will not know where they live. We suggest we meet and
arrange car pooling at 12:45 at Steinbach 55 Plus.

Oh You guys! Thursday, February 23 - 7:00PM Winona La Duke was in town to open "Growing Local" conference! you can't make people choose! We would have wanted to be there at solar gathering,  But we got tickets to see Winona 2 month ago...

hope it can be organised again ...

 I'll try to make it on 10th ... depends on exams...
