MANISTEE COUNTY DEMOCRATS AND FRIENDS:

By now I hope most of you have heard or read about the mailers sent out by the Michigan Republican Party in support of the Cole campaign for Michigan state senate.  These mailers were intended to create more fear, hate, and division by portraying his opponent Rebecca Amidon as opposing public safety and the police.  The mailers listed Rebecca's personal cell phone number asking recipients to call her and tell her that they did not support her campaign.  Rebecca's phone lit up, but she did not hang up on the angry callers; instead, she listened to their concerns and expectations for how they wanted their state senator to represent them in Lansing.  She even convinced several of them to vote for HER!   Sadly, she also received several calls from children who were obviously being coached to call her a pedophile. (They had trouble pronouncing that big word) There was another phone number listed asking voters to call Sheriff Cole and tell him that they supported him.  THAT number connected directly to the Mason County Sheriff's office and was answered by a taxpayer-funded employee!  Candidate Cole denied any responsibility for these mailers blaming it all on the state party that is supporting his campaign.  That denial alone exemplifies the moral decline of both this candidate and the political party that supports his campaign.  We all need to spread this word and #Remember in November!

Join us at the Onekama Village Park on M22 Wednesday, September 23rd from 12noon to 2pm.  We will have yard signs, buttons, campaign literature, and good conversation about the strong Democrat candidates up and down the November 3rd election ballot.  Stop by and help us wave to the drivers on beautiful M22 showing them that we support Democrats and the chance to get rid of the chaos, corruption, and cruelty in Lansing and Washington.

Thursday September 24th at 4pm there will be a fundraiser picnic for Angel Coon in the village of Hart in Oceana County.  Angel is running a strong campaign to defeat the tired, old incumbent in the 102nd state house district. Please RSVP your number of attendees to con...@oceanacountydemocrats.com if you mail a check (or pay at the door). Or, use this ActBlue account to reserve your seat: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/picnicforthepeople

Also, on Saturday, September 26th at 4pm we will be cleaning our section of US31 between 11Mile and Maidens Road south of Bear Lake.  Meet up and park by the abandoned gas station south of 11mile on the east side of US31.  Many hands will make this work go quickly!

Sunday, September 27th at 1:30pm join us to knock on doors in Manistee for Rebecca Amidon's campaign for state senate. We will meet at the Manistee County Dems River Street office to get briefed and assigned our turf.  We are focused on talking to independent and leaning Democrat voters who may not have voted in 2024.  We need them to vote on November 3rd!  Please download the NGP MiniVAN app to your Apple smart phone using this link:  https://apps.apple.com/us/app/minivan-touch/id352087547
