Dear Manistee County Friends,
This is a reminder that on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 5:30 PM, we invite you to join us for a
Community Conversation About Strong, Healthy Communities.

Strong families and healthy communities are the foundation of a strong America. Yet current policy decisions in Lansing and Washington may affect how our neighbors—seniors, working families, and children—receive the health care and nutrition they need.

Listen to panel members discuss how current policies could impact Manistee County:

Sarah Howard, Manistee Council on Aging, Executive Director of Warner Senior Center
Al Frye, Food Access Strategy Team (FAST), a project of Live Well Manistee/Human Services Collaboration
Karen Goodman,
Centra Wellness Board Vice President The panel will provide an overview of what is happening locally with Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs that could be affected. Following
their remarks, we will open the floor for conversation, giving everyone an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns or experiences.
Location: West Shore Community College, Manistee Campus
Time: Thursday, October 9, 5:30–7:30 PM
 Light refreshments will be served.

Please join us for this important conversation, stay informed, and share your perspective. Together, we can help keep our communities healthy and strong.

 In League,
 Mary Fairgrieve and Deborah Kimble
 Co-Presidents
Manistee County League of Women Voters
