MANISTEE COUNTY DEMOCRATS:
Happy Easter Sunday! Instead of feeling the wonder of the resurrection and the impending spring blossoms I am embarrassed and ashamed that the madman a plurality elected to lead our great country has posted a profanity-laden screed threatening death and destruction
through war crimes to the 90+ million people of Iran. Many of his sycophantic handlers are finally realizing he has been driven over the edge of sanity because he can't figure out a way to declare victory in the war he alone started for no logical reason other
than to distract from the Trump-Epstein Files! I am not holding my breath that the cowards in his hand-picked cabinet will take action in accordance with the 25th amendment to the US Constitution and of course the fools in the US Congress including
our US Rep Moolenaar are much too fearful to take impeachment action. We will have to take matters into our own hands at the ballot box on Tuesday November 3, 2026 and vote out all those who refuse to do their job and speak truth to power!
Thanks to the more than 600 people who assembled last Saturday and peacefully protested the chaos, corruption, and cruelty of the regime currently occupying the White House in Washington and the weaklings who refuse to do their
job as members of a co-equal branch of our constitutional federal government. We joined over 9 million others across the country who represent the groundswell movement that will certainly
#Remember in November!
I hope that you all received your absentee ballot for the May 5 election in the mail this past week.
EVERYONE in the state of Michigan is eligible to vote via absentee ballot. All you have to do is register in person with your City or Township Clerk to have the absentee ballot automatically mailed to your home address before every election.
The current ballot only contains a property tax millage renewal for West Shore Community College, but it is an important opportunity to support our local higher education resource and utilize the right to vote by mail.
Consider volunteering to help at the polls. Check with your City or Township Clerk about how to become a trained election inspector. These are the folks that help ensure we have free, fair, and safe elections. Training is required, but it is
easy and when you help your neighbors at the polls on election day, you will be doing more to protect our representative republic than any other action you can take.
The Senior Nutrition Program (aka Meals on Wheels) at the Manistee County Senior Center is in need of delivery drivers. Meals are delivered every weekday, and the routes are
scheduled to take no more than 2 hours of your time. You can volunteer to take a specific route on a specific day of the week, or you can sign up to be a substitute when the regular delivery person is on vacation or not available. Call the Wagoner Senior
Center to find out more information at 231-723-6477 and ask for Kristen.
Volunteer to serve on a City of Manistee commission. The City is always looking for knowledgeable volunteers willing to provide support and guidance to many of the operational
areas that make Manistee a great place to live. You can find out more about these opportunities by using this link to the City website:

The Manistee County Democratic Party Executive Committee will meet on Tuesday, April 7th at 6pm in the office at 319 River Street.
All party members are always welcome to attend and observe these meetings where the business of the local party is conducted. At this meeting we will be reviewing and selecting some options for the graphic art for the two billboards that will go up on
US 31 from July 1 to October 31, 2026. We intend to enlist your input to make the final selections. Be looking on social media and in your email inbox for the opportunity to select the billboard that you will be most proud to see on this busy highway.
We are still taking donations to help fund the billboard project.
