MANISTEE COUNTY DEMOCRATS!
I want to express my admiration and appreciation to all the hardy souls who showed up in sub-zero windchill conditions to protest the murders by out-of-control federal thugs in Minneapolis last Monday. Over 160 of you came out with your signs of protest and
anger as well as your personal feelings of sadness and grief for the senseless loss of two American citizens who were doing nothing but expressing their constitutional rights. During previous protests we have received about 90% positive feedback from the
cars passing by. Last Monday we saw over 99% positive response to our efforts!

Some of our less politically engaged friends and neighbors may frown on our efforts to peacefully protest. You might hear that these rallies do nothing of any consequence and that we are wasting our time and effort. I respectfully disagree with those thoughts.
At every demonstration I am experiencing a community of people organizing to peacefully resist tyranny from a government led by those that do not respect the rule of law or the will of the people. I believe that this community organizing will serve us well
as we evaluate the candidates who will be working to earn our trust and our votes in November. We are organizing to fuel a record voter turnout at the polls which will deliver a true mandate that America is not ruled by the ultra-rich who feel their money
gives them power and entitles them to be above the law.
Join us at the Dems office at 319 River Street (across from the Blue Fish/Golden Stag) on Wednesday afternoons between 1-3pm to have a warm cup of coffee and a warm, safe conversation
about your issues and concerns.
Join MARJDI and WSCC Humankind Series for a film produced in Michigan by an Alma College professor and conversation with local farmers and farm workers on Saturday February 7th
at 2pm at the WSCC building on River Street in downtown Manistee.
The Manistee County Democratic Party is planning to put up two billboards along US31 in Manistee beginning on June 1st and running through the end of October. These
two billboards will cost $12,000! Right now, we do not have that money in the bank. We are asking our supporters to step up and help us raise the money to pay for these billboards.
We have not finalized the message but here is an example of one we are considering:
