The NO KINGS protest rally in Manistee on Saturday October 18th was a huge success thanks to the collaboration between the Manistee County Democratic Party and the newly formed Manistee Indivisible group.  The aerial shot by Brian Veine's Well Droned of the human NO KINGS sign at the First Street beach was the first photo featured in Michael Moore's widely read Substack post today!  Here is a link to that post:  https://www.michaelmoore.com/p/your-pics-from-no-kings?fbclid=IwY2xjawNjk1tleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHm1mMF2seqvXK0lXkRm8gMG1BwX_CTdpElfbFCuWwAdsFKHbT36HdNlNEKKr_aem__uT16SXX6sweipIp2fswNg

We will continue to provide you with opportunities to remain active and engaged in building a stronger community by letting you know about events you can participate in each week!

Feeding America Food Truck Needs Our Help!
We will have over 10,000 lbs of nutritious groceries to distribute to about 400 food insecure families in Manistee County on Wednesday October 22, 2025.  Join us at 10am in the parking lot of the Lakeshore Drive Church (behind Burger King) to pack and sack.  We typically get done before 12 noon if we have a good turnout of helpers!

Believe it or Not: Moolenaar's Holding a Townhall!
Of course, he will not appear in person.  It will be a telephone only event with carefully selected questions that he will likely answer straight from the MAGA playbook.  It will be interesting to listen and observe how he tries to slide by and gaslight us all in his responses.  It will start at 4pm on Wednesday October 22nd. You must pre-register using this link:  Address Lookup | Congressman John Moolenaar

We have important ballot initiative petitions for you to sign!
Stop by the Manistee County Dems River Street office to sign the petitions to put Ranked Choice Voting (Bring Ranked Choice Voting to Michigan | Rank MI Vote), Money Out of Politics (Home - Mop Up Michigan), and Invest in MI Kids       ( Putting Kids First. Building a Stronger Michigan for Everyone.) on the 2026 ballot.

We still need a storage building!
We are looking for a no/low cost building with a 10'x20' space where we can store our parade float trailer and some excess office equipment.  If you know of someone who is willing to lend us this space please contact John Helge at johnm...@gmail.com or 616-915-2403.

River Street Office to Remain Open!
We have reached an agreement with our wonderful landlord at Ruddiblush Gallery that will enable us to keep the office at 319 River Street open through the 2026 election!
We want to remain highly visible to voters, residents, and visitors in Manistee County.  Due to the success we have enjoyed this summer and fall we have made the commitment to remain open through the winter.  This will provide people in our community with a safe place to gather, discuss concerns, and find ways to help solve problems.
We will need to find additional funding to support this commitment and we hope those who receive this email will be able to step up and contribute.  We make it easy to donate using this link: Donations
