I get frustrated with Ben Ambrose.  He never presents well. It tends to be herkey-jerky, confusing, and back and forth. He needs to either write a standard stump speech himself or get a professional to write one for him that presents his positions in an organized manner and hits all the high points. This is not only more efficient, it's also more impactful.

Being able to improvise and speak off the cuff is a skill that develops over time with a lot of practice. Some never develop it.  Not having at least an outline means that you forget important things and/or go off on tangents that waste time and lessen impact. A stump speech is a mini drama. It should have an arc and acts with scenes that drive home ideas and emotions. People should be cheering with their wallets out at the end.

Ben knows a lot more about the technical details of legislation than the average candidate, but in general, voters are not interested in "sausage making." They are not interested in how it gets done; they want to know that it will get done.

Who is this actually from? If you're going to put out this kind of email, it needs to be transparent. Thank you.

While I agree with much of this posting, I also with Sara that the author should identify him or herself.  I Was also disappointed with his performance last night and I mentioned my concerns to a staff member.  I will vote for him and I contributed to his campaign last night, but he needs to polish his presentation.

I'm sorry that my real name wasn't attached to the original. The post was meant to be constructed and was sent to Ben's campaign.  Stump speeches are an art, and people shouldn't be put off by early efforts that didn't quite hit the mark.

I appreciate your perspective, Lee. You are always a voice of reason and are able to articulate your position.
For me, I do believe Ben has the best chance of beating Moolenaar.
