MCDP Convention and Straw Poll Reminder

Manistee County Democrats!
We hope you all can join us tomorrow night, Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 7pm at the West Shore Community College building on River Street in downtown Manistee. We will be conducting our 2026 County Convention in preparation for the Michigan Democratic Party State Endorsement Convention on April 19, 2026, in Detroit.
We will be electing someone from the Manistee County Democratic Party to serve as an alternate on the MDP State Convention Credentialing Committee. We will also be considering and voting on resolutions that have been submitted for us to vote to approve and forward to the MDP Resolutions Committee for consideration at the state convention.
We will then be hearing from Karen McDonald, candidate for Michigan Attorney General and Barb Byrum and Suzanna Shkreli candidates for Michigan Secretary of State via ZOOM. Jay Kilgo, candidate for Michigan state senate District 32 will be talking to us in person.
After we hear from the candidates everyone in the room will have the opportunity to participate in the Straw Poll to help determine who Democrats in Manistee County feel will best represent us as Michigan's Attorney General and Secretary of State. Both of these candidates will be selected at the April convention. Also included in the straw poll will be candidates for Michigan Governor, Michigan US Senator, and US Representative from the Michigan Second Congressional District.
The primary purpose of tomorrow's meeting and all future meetings of the MCDP is to bring information to the voters in Manistee County to help ensure they are making informed decisions when they cast their votes in November. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening!
